Marie Benham of Albany was shopping at 1st Hand Seconds with family members a few days ago when she fell into conversation with the woman at the boutique register.
She learned the women’s clothing store is the business that supports the ministry of Mercy House International Inc., a faith-based organization that provides long-term shelter for women who have been victims of domestic abuse. And she got to thinking about the donations the business and organization might accept.
Benham had a 1991 Dodge Caravan she no longer needed, a one-owner vehicle with just 65,000 miles on it.
“I was looking around to try to donate the car to somebody. I couldn’t find the right place, I guess,” Benham said. Read the rest of the article.
